Autoimmune thyroid diseases (AITD) comprise two clinical phenotypes, Graves’ disease and Hashimoto’s thyroiditis. These conditions share distinct immunological features such as autoreactivity against the key thyroid autoantigens thyroglobulin and thyroid peroxidase.
